I didn’t eat much yesterday, I had two breakfast sausage rolls, then three cakes from Patisserie Valerie over the whole day, cooked dinner for my step-father then drank, got bored and went to bed. Lol.

I like to cook, but I need someone to cook for to put in effort. When my girls are gone, I just scrounge. I’ll end up eating some chips and salsa and calling it a night.

I just tried to get brunch since it was on my way back from returning the rental car. Wait time was an hour so I got a pastry to go and kept walking. Now I wish I’d waited.

That looks delicious. Much better than my lunch, though mine was also quite tasty.

The worst part of cooking for my step-father last night was that he wanted his bistro steak, 'very well done', I almost had to burn the poor thing.

I had leftovers from last night...moroccan chicken, peas in tomato sauce with pearl onions, over cous cous.

Sounds really nice, though I'm not a fan of couscous.

That's comfort food for me.

I only discovered them roughly a year ago. Ended up gifting all of the other raman in the house to my neighbor.
Walmart recently had a pallet full of cases of them sitting in the middle of the aisle . On top of the stack were the open cases intended for people to grab a cheap 5 pack, for whatever rolled back price a 5 pack was going for that day.
I took 4 full cases.
The cashier was confused. Clearly they hadn’t tried them before.

I’ve not actually tried that particular brand, but ramen in general, I love. Although my wife has corrupted me. I used to get the absolute cheapest “No Name” (it’s an actual brand up here!) ones, and growing up we also had the Mr. Noodles brand ones . Mrs. BaconSandwich introduced me to the Sapporo ones. They are significantly better.

Saporros are good, as are the Nongshims and the Nissins. The I ndomie is less of a soup and more of a noodle dish as you are supposed to drain the water then add the flavoring packet, pack of dried fried onions, hot salsa and soy sauce to the noodles . It ends up being somewhat spicy, with a hint of sweetness from the fried onion and can become quite the addiction.

That does sound tasty! There was a variety that my wife had picked up - just a package or two - that had different cooking instructions like that. Cook off the water, then add the flavour, and it came with a tiny packet of seaweed. They were super-tasty.
Ever watch French Guy Cooking on YouTube? He does a whole series on homemade ramen. It makes me want to try making my own from scratch like he did.

Haven’t seen the French guy channel, though it sounds intriguing. Might just have to check that one out. Never considered making my own, but I bet it could become an adventure.

He goes all out. Homemade noodles, homemade broth (different kinds). I’ve got a pasta machine, but not all the ingredients (I should pick up some gluten...). Great, now it’s 10:00 pm, and I’m craving ramen...
